Edition log

Dated changes to the research edition, newest first.

  1. Ten more city dossiers

Added dossiers for Cape Town, Singapore, Seoul, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Vancouver, New York City, Bogotá, Melbourne, Paris, with 30 registry entries, 19 signals and 66 sources read on 2026-10-07. Plans are recorded as plans; there are no rankings.

  2. Data and methods, accessibility and share previews

Added a page describing the open files, how entries are checked, how to cite them and how texts and images were prepared. Clickable targets were enlarged to the WCAG 2.2 minimum, and each language now has its own social preview card.

  3. Assistant, sharper images, checked translations

Added the page “Ask the registry” (automatic search over this edition, with sources) and a helper that drafts an entry from the text of a city plan for human review. All large images were rebuilt with neural super-resolution for sharper detail. Translations in five languages were checked by independent back-translation and more than two hundred wording and meaning fixes were made.

  4. Map and monthly letter

Added a map of the cities of this edition and an optional monthly letter with double opt-in and one-click unsubscribe. The privacy page now describes what is stored.

  5. How we use AI, search and a page for cities

Added a page explaining how AI is used and what it does not do, site search, and a page for city offices and institutions on how to send an official plan or a correction.

  6. RSS feed

Added an RSS feed of this edition log, so changes can be followed in a feed reader.

  7. Five new city dossiers

Added dossiers for Dhaka, Almaty, Rotterdam, Nusantara and Lagos, with four new registry entries, five signals and checked sources.

  8. City observer protocol

Added a short protocol that explains how to observe a street or neighbourhood, separate fact from interpretation and send an observation safely.

  9. Promise registry, signal observatory and open data

Added the promise registry, the signal observatory, this edition log and downloadable data. Every entry states how it was verified.

  10. Security and transparency update

Added protection against automated form abuse, security headers and a security contact, labelled AI-generated images, and opened the site to search engines.

  11. 72 hours of a city

Published the seven-step route from everyday normality to the first restored function.

  12. Visual edition

New dark visual layout with city imagery, accessibility options and navigation in six languages.
